The New York City based Firebrand Theory has dedicated
itself to stir up public feelings by investigation of controversial issues and
dramatizing the infinite mystery of the extraordinary in the ordinary. It is
our Theory that Theater is a device to bring belief
into action yielding a lively mix of celebration, unrest, and adventure. This
phenomenon, much like our company, cannot be regulated.
Our seasons will entertain the public with revivals, adaptations, and homegrown,
company-created pieces. Led by the material, or in opposition to the material,
we will delve into the classical, experimental, and of course, the contemporary.
Staging will test our work in traditional, non-traditional, and site-specific
environments.
We exist for bold,
poetic, and playful assembly in order to challenge social conventions, to pursue
discovery, and to give everyone another true choice when they go to the theater.
